[SCOOP] New dyer love
This month we are welcoming Lichen and Lace to our February Pop-Up Shop! An independent dyer from New Brunswick, Canada, Megan has slowly grown her dye studio - from hobby, to passion, to art. Her colors have made her a favorite of knitters across the globe. To introduce Lichen and Lace to you, we chose their single-ply Superwash Fingering. It's 400 yards of color and possibility. We love this organic texture in shawls and cowls. It is so soft- on the needles, under the fingers, and those *colors* 😍 😍 😍These tonals and speckles glow in Joji Locatelli's crescent shawl, "Ebba's Garden."...
[SCOOP] It's not selfish if it's yarn 😉
As we reach the end of "selfish knitting month" we have one more squishy-soft, instant gratification project to share, that you'll probably want to keep for yourself....This cowl has been a favorite at Loops. We love the combination of that speckled robin's egg blue and mustard gold. And these bulky fisherman's ribs stand up and say, "I'm on a mission of warmth today!"This design is a modification of Susan B. Anderson's "Co.wl" which is available on Ravelry. We cast on 64 stitches on a size 11 needle for a piece that hugs your neck and fits right inside your coat. We've been selling out...

This yarny hug will jump off your needles in Queensland's Kathmandu Aran 100, a tweedy merino blend with a dash of silk and cashmere for strength, softness, and drape. To make your own,...

[SCOOP] When things unravel
When things unravel, it’s a good time to take a closer look, an honest look at how you knit your piece to begin with.So you don’t keep making the same mistakes.Unraveling is hard. No one likes to go backward. But in the end, it’s really the only way to move forward. This Tuesday, January 12, my story will be published - in hardcover, Kindle and audiobook formats. In it, I tell the unvarnished stories of my unravelings….the failures, the fear, and the frogging back. The release date was set by the publisher more than a year ago. With the tumult of this past...
