Created for Erika Knight’s Unraveling Wooly Thoughts – Crafting a Signature Style workshop, this textured neckerchief reflects Erika’s thoughtful and deeply personal approach to making. Inspired by landscape, reclaimed materials, texture, and the imperfect beauty of handmade work, the project encourages you to experiment a little, loosen your grip on perfection, and see where the process takes you.

Based on the stitch pattern from Erika’s blanket square, the fabric has a softly woven look created through simple drop stitches and texture. It feels relaxed and organic in the best possible way. The finished piece is lightweight, easy to wear, and has that “thrown on without trying too hard” feeling.

Each kit includes a full skein of Heavenly Fingering in your selected colorway to create Erika Knight’s textured neckerchief. The simple drop stitches and woven-like texture make this project engaging to knit while still feeling approachable and relaxing once you settle into the rhythm.

The Yarn

This kit features The Uncommon Thread’s dreamy Heavenly Fingering base, a luxurious blend of baby alpaca, silk, and cashmere that feels incredibly soft in your hands. The yarn has a gentle halo and beautiful drape that work especially well with the texture in this project. It gives the finished neckerchief a soft, fluid fabric that feels cozy without being heavy.
