Malabrigo Rasta
Malabrigo Rasta is a super bulky, single-ply merino dyed in Malabrigo's glorious colorways.
Combine 1 skein of Rasta with Malabrigo Rios to create the Stranded Cowl by Julie Weisenberger.
People may not believe you knitted this cowl — the fabric is more woven in appearance. The wrong side is shown as the exposed side but the reverse, right side is also interesting; giving you a reversible piece. It is deceptively simple and very quick to knit. Use two soft yarns and you will have a plush, warm piece that you will never want to take off. Choose 1 skein of any color of Malabrigo Rios to combine with 1 skein of Rasta. Create a tonal effect by choosing similar colors, or a two color version with contrasting colors, as shown in our photo. Find Rios here:
Size
Cowl is approximately 28in / 71 cm in circumference as written but is very easy to adjust. Just make sure to CO an odd number of stitches.
Materials
Yarn A: Approx 145 yds / 133 m worsted weight yarn.
Yarn B: Approx 60 yds / 55 m chunky to bulky weight yarn (yarn calling for US 11–13 needle). The thicker your Yarn B is, the bigger the “nibs” of texture will be.
Fiber: 100% merino
Weight: 150 grams
Length: 90 yards
Gauge/Needle Size: 2-2.5 sts = 1 inch on US 13-17
Care: Hand wash gently, lay flat to dry.
