Soho Top
"Soho Top" by Caidree
Soho Top is a classic sleeveless summer top with a boatneck style neckline. It is constructed from the top down giving it an advantage for adjusting the length of the body. Simple garter stitch is used throughout the pattern. It is worked flat and in the round. Neckline, waist and armhole openings are framed with an i-cord edging and body features decorative “seams” on both sides.
This top is intended to be worn with 0 to 3 inches (0 to 7cm) of positive ease. You will need 5, (6), 6, (7), 7, (8), 8, (9), 10, (11) skeins of Loops Luxe Chunky for finished bust circumference of 30”, (31 1⁄2”), 35 1⁄2”, (39 1⁄2”), 41 3⁄4”, (43 1⁄4”), 47 1⁄4”, (48 3⁄4”), 51 1⁄4”, (53 1⁄2”) / 76, (80), 90, (100), 106, (110), 120, (124), 130, (136) cm. The project uses sizes US2.5 (3mm), US4 (3.5mm) and US6 (4mm) needles.
The pattern is available on Ravelry.
Our Star Guide Amber is modeling her version here! Amber says: " I saw the top on her Instagram with an ad looking for test knitters. I have always loved her designs and thought I'd jump in and see if I get picked to test knit for her. I loved the modern look and fit of it using garter stitch. She used two strands held together, but having worked with the loops luxe chunky before, it looked like it would be a perfect match held only one strand. I had to use a needle size smaller than the pattern, but it met gauge and knit up beautifully. I used five skeins in total for size 2. The side seams are a genius pattern detail by Caidree to solve the transition of knitting in the round since garter stitch is one round in knit and the next in purl. I also got to revisit Jen’s season 6 video on provisional cast on for the shoulder straps. This top looks great over a sundress or with dress pants or jeans.
