Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande
Alegria Grande is the big sister of one of our all-time favorites--Manos Alegria. With its supersoft superwash base and added poly for strength and resilience, Alegria Grande is the perfect worsted choice for everything from blankets to accessories and sweaters.
For the Balaclava, use 2 skeins of Alegria Grande, holding 2 strands double along with a strand of Rowan Cashmere Haze. The pattern can be found for purchase here and you’ll need circular needles in size US #8 and #6.
We combined Alegria Grande with Dream State by Spincycle to create the Fogline Shawl or create your own Fogline Pullover.
The Fogline Pullover is knitted from the top-down with circular yoked construction. Balanced increases throughout the yoke create a randomized, pixelated quality by interrupting the slipped stitch lines that flow down the sweater. The sweater has a cropped, modern silhouette. The back neck is shaped with short rows. There is no body shaping. You can find the Fogline Pullover pattern by Brienne Moody on Ravelry.
Spincycle Dream State's color changes create a powerful contrast to the saturated colorways of Alegria Grande. Or choose to make a more subtle piece choosing main and contrast colors in the same tonal palette.
We've curated 3 perfect color pairings for your Pullover:
"Heart Sigh" Dream State + "Black" Alegria Grande = Sweet and Bold
"Nostalgia" Dream State + "Foil" Alegria Grande = Silver Plums
"Stay Ready" Dream State + "Teal" Alegria Grande = Earthy Jewels

"Forth Hat" by Ysolda Teague
Whether you’re an adventurous beginner eager to learn new skills, or an experienced knitter looking for a quick, compelling project you’ll love knitting the Forth Hat. The swatchless design begins at the centre top: the crown is shaped by increasing outward in 4 ‘compass point’ lines. When you’ve created enough fabric to do so you can simply measure your gauge on the project, and match it to the numbers given for your size and gauge. Once the fun crown shaping is complete, there’s lots of soothing stockinette that makes for the perfect “take anywhere” project. Choose from a deep folded brim, or a simple ribbed band – directions are included for both 1x1 and 2x2 rib.
"Forth Hat" is available on Ravelry.
