Yana XL is Yana, only blown–up to super chunky weight. Yana in Quechua (native language of the Incas) means “black”, because we believe our black sheep definitely stands out from the flock. Yana XL is 100% hand–sorted 21.5 micron Peruvian highland wool, developed and spun in an extremely soft and light-as-andean-air structure.

Offering a bold visual companion to the Peruvian textiles that have been woven in wool in the highland of  shades alongside a neutral palette, Yana XL is the (chunky) black sheep of the Amano family.

Ev's daughter, Chandler, doesn't ask for many knitted gifts, but she came in our flagship store and fell in love with a couple of things-one was this amazing 1414 orange color.  So a hat was requested.  The "Gold Medal Hat" by Jen Geigley fit the bill and was whipped up almost immediately.  And it's a good thing, because Oklahoma had record amounts of snow and freezing temps.  You can make yours with one skein of Yana XL (two if making a matching pom) in any of these gorgeous 13 colors.  Evelyn used size 17 DPNs.  Find this pattern on Ravelry.
