La Bien Aimée Kumo

$ 39.50

The yarnstory:

"Kumo 雲 stands for cloud in Japanese. Inspired by my recent travels to Japan, I felt inspired to bring an alternative fibre to our yarn line that will give you the feeling of wearing the lightness of clouds." --Aimée Gille

The yarn:

Kumo is one of the softest bases in the LBA collection.  The combination of Baby Suri Alpaca and Mulberry Silk makes it a winner for next-to-skin garments, and its lightness makes it perfect as a carry-along to any of LBA's fingering yarns to create a sport weight fabric for shawls and garments.

"Helix Cardigan" by Marianne Munier @mar.gue.nee

We were just blown away when Aimée arrived at our Flagship Store to debut our Fall Hot Loops Wall wearing her Helix Cardigan in the Fluoro Morganite colorway!  Absolutely stunning!

The cardigan is knit holding one strand of Kumo together with one strand of LBA Felix in order to achieve an ethereal halo effect.  Alternately, for a more opaque effect, the sweater can be knit holding two strands of Felix.  Choices, choices!!!

The sweater is knit with size US 6 (4mm) needles and comes in a wide array of sizes as well as two sweater lengths.  We've included Marianne's handy size and yardage charts to assist in your yarn selection.  The pattern is available on Ravelry.

"Rear View Window" by Casapinka @casapinka

Casapinka is planning to release her new "Rear View Window" sweater pattern on November 25!  The sideways knit pullover with easy lace detailing on the front and a "treat" on the back of the sweater courtesy of Sharon will be fun to knit, and the fabric created by holding one strand of Kumo together with LBA Cashmerino is simply amazing!

The sweater is knit with size US 7 & 10 (4.5-6mm) needles, and the pattern will be available for purchase on Ravelry.  You can find sizing and yarn requirements for your Rear View Window here.
