Kitties, road trip knits and (psst) a sale! đ€
Announcing our July Pop-up Shop: Kitty Pride Fibers! đđ§¶
We first got to know Chastity Dunlap of Kitty Pride Fibers (@kittypridefibers)Â when she collaborated with Knit Star Francoise Danoy (@arohaknits)Â for Season 5.
This curated selection from Kitty Pride's Summer Dreams color collection was dyed on a base made just for us. Rag Doll 2-Ply is a beautiful blend of 80% superwash merino and 20% silk. With island-inspired colors like "Blue Lagoon" and "Pina Colada," it feels like the fiber form of summer.
When we laid eyes on Chastity's gorgeous, purrrfectly squishable fingering weight yarn, we knew it needed a pattern pairing that all knitters would love.
Whether you're a newbie knitter who wants to try out some new stitches, or a not-so-newbie who wants to work something fun with familiar stitches- "Medley" is for you.
Libby Jonson's "Medley" is a feather-shaped shawl worked in 3 colors. This is one of those projects that will have you saying "one more row!"
Carolyne knit her "Medley" with 3 skeins of Kitty Pride.
Find the pattern on Ravelry, and shop the beach inspired yarn here.
As yarn lovers know, road trips are for stitching!!
"Talk to the Paw," a new pattern by Casapinka, is a fun little project for you to work as the miles fly by.
This mostly garter shawl has several nods to kitties with "stealth cat prints" along one edge and a unique paw print design between each color block.
The pattern will be published on July 12th, available on Ravelry. Order one of our Fino Mini sets and you'll be ready to cast on just in time!
Or if you're hitting the road this weekend and can't wait for the pattern, pick up a Fino Set to make "Interlude" by Janina Kallio. Shelley chose the "Clarissa" colorway, but it's gorgeous in any of our 6 sets!
Pick up your Fino mini-set here.
Check your email this week for all the details! In the meantime, read Shelley's love letters to Seasons 1-5 to help you choose which Season to start next. Remember, they're not sequential so you can watch them in any order.
With each Masterclass Season, you'll travel along to each Star's home/studio for an intimate look at what inspires them...then you'll learn from them one-on-one as they share their best techniques, tips and tricks.
There's nothing quite like Knit Stars to take your fiber art to the next level! đ«
Ingredients:
1 pound baby Dutch yellow potatoes
3 ears corn, each cut crosswise into 6 pieces
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 (12.8-ounce) package smoked andouille sausage, thinly sliced
1 lemon, cut into wedges
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly oil a baking sheet or coat with nonstick spray.
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook potatoes until just tender and parboiled, about 10-13 minutes. Stir in corn during the last 5 minutes of cooking time; drain well.
In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic and Old Bay seasoning.
Place potatoes, corn, shrimp and sausage in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet. Stir in butter mixture and gently toss to combine.
Place in oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the shrimp are opaque and corn is tender.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges, garnished with parsley, if desired.
