Knit Alice Hammer’s Manège sweater with Nimbus from Fonty, one of the last wool spinning and dyeing mills in France.
Created for Alice Hammer’s Ladderback Jacquard with a French Twist workshop, Manège puts Ladderback Jacquard to work managing long floats and keeping the back of your colorwork neat.
Choose Red and Undyed Ecru for a classic high-contrast look or Natural Brown and Undyed Ecru for a quieter, natural palette.
The Yarn
Alice chose Fonty Nimbus, a sport-weight yarn made from Mérinos d’Arles from southern France and Portuguese merino from the Alentejo region. Its softly heathered base and 4-ply construction give the colorwork clear stitch definition.
